Privacy Policy

What RVMeet is

RVMeet is a private travel coordination app for groups of invited RV families. It is not a public platform — access is by invite only and requires admin approval. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it is used.

What we collect

  • Account information — your family name, email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text).
  • Trip data — stop names, arrival and departure dates, GPS coordinates, and addresses you provide or that we look up on your behalf via geocoding.
  • Calendar feed URL — if you connect an RV LIFE Trip Wizard or RVParky calendar link for automatic syncing, that URL is stored securely. It is never shared with other families or third parties.
  • Settings — your family color, group memberships, proximity radius preference, and default group.
  • Feedback and announcements — any feedback you submit through the in-app form, and announcements posted within your group.

How we use your data

  • Your trip data is shared with other members of your group so everyone can see routes on the shared map and timeline and detect coordination opportunities.
  • Your calendar feed URL is used only to sync your trip data automatically — it is never displayed to other families (only a masked version of the URL is shown to you).
  • Your email address is used for account-related messages: approval notification, password reset links, and group announcements sent via email. We do not use it for marketing.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.

Geocoding

When your trip includes address-only stops (no GPS coordinates), RVMeet sends those addresses to Nominatim (OpenStreetMap) and, as a fallback, the US Census Bureau geocoder to look up coordinates. These are standard public geocoding services. Only the address text is sent — no account information is attached.

Analytics

RVMeet uses Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insightsto collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (page views, performance metrics). No personally identifiable information is included in these analytics. See Vercel's privacy policy for details.

Cookies and sessions

RVMeet uses a single JWT session cookie to keep you logged in. The cookie is HTTP-only and expires after 30 days. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. To have your account and all associated trip data removed, contact the app administrator or email us at chrispohladthomas@gmail.com. Admins can also delete accounts directly from the Admin page.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
